PHYA 607 - Clinical Medicine II

Instructional Method: Four hours lecture.
Prerequisites: PHYA 606 .
The second in a sequence of four courses that will examine diseases and disorders commonly encountered in primary care practice. This course is designed to enable PA students to acquire and refine knowledge and skills necessary for effective, safe and patient-centered management in the delivery of primary care to patients. An organ system approach is used in conjunction with the MSPA course of study. Each disease or disorder is described in terms of the epidemiology, pathophysiology, genetic and/or molecular mechanism, presenting signs and symptoms, physical exam findings, differential diagnosis, diagnostic studies, treatment and/or management, referral, patient education, and sequelae. Special attention will be given to clinical application of information.
