Credits: (3) Instructional Method: Lecture Prerequisites: Graduate standing and permission of instructor. This graduate-level course has been developed to increase student knowledge of effective crisis communication and risk and issues management strategies. Topics covered in this course include: various crisis communication and public relations theories; types of organizational crises; the elements of effective crisis management; and the relationships between crisis communication, risk communication and issues management. This course allows students to develop the knowledge and skills needed to identify, evaluate, and manage organizational crises as future crisis communication professionals.
