MATH 168 - Calculus I with Integrated Precalculus I (GE) Credits: (3) Instructional Method: Three hours lecture. Prerequisites: Either 1) a C or better in MATH 125 , or 2) a passing grade on a placement test approved by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The sequence MATH 168: MATH 169 covers the topics covered in MATH 171 but also includes topics from algebra and trigonometry that MATH 171 assumes as prerequisite. MATH 168 covers limits and derivatives of algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic functions and applications of the derivative, including curve sketching, velocity and acceleration, optimization, and related rates.
Note(s): General Education and Scientific and Quantitative Reasoning designated course. Students with credit for MATH 138 or MATH 171 may not receive credit for MATH 168.
