OCTH 647 - The Occupational Therapy Process for Musculoskeletal Conditions

Credits: (4)
Prerequisites: Successful completion of all prior coursework.
Develops knowledge and skills for clinical practice with adults who have musculoskeletal conditions affecting occupational performance. Applies the Person-Environment-Occupation-Performance model and other theoretical models and frames of reference to evaluation, intervention, and discharge for occupational therapy practice with clients with musculoskeletal disorders.  Selection, administration, and implementation of various assessment tools and intervention methods will be explored. Physical agent modalities and orthotic fabrication will be expanded upon for application to adults with musculoskeletal disorders.  Students will participate in a field experience with clients under the supervision of a faculty or community mentor to enhance understanding of concepts related to provision of services for adults with musculoskeletal disorders.
