CS 120 - Principles of Computer Science I (GE) Credits: (4) Instructional Method: Three hours lecture; two hours laboratory. Prerequisites: A “C” or better in MATH 125 or MATH 138 ; or credit for MATH 126 , MATH 168 , OR MATH 171 .
and one of the following.
1. A “C” or better in CS 101 .
2. A passing score on a placement exam approved by the School of Computing and Information Sciences. A rigorous, systematic approach to object-oriented problem solving and programming.
Note(s): General Education and Scientific and Quantitative Reasoning designated course. Students may not attempt to take CS 120 more than two times (a “W” will count as an attempt).
Students who have taken CS 109 must earn a ‘C’ or better in CS 109 before taking CS 120.
Students who have earned credit for CS 119 cannot subsequently earn credit for CS 120. Student may not take CS 120 at the same time as either CS 118 or CS 119 or CS 101 .
