SOWK 611 - Social Welfare I. Policy is Practice

Instructional Method: Three hours lecture.
Prerequisites: Admission to graduate program in Social Work or permission of the instructor.
In this course, social welfare policies and programs are analyzed within historic and current social, political, cultural, and economic contexts. Consideration is given to the differential impact of social welfare policies on diverse populations, particularly populations at risk.
