The development of discerning listening skills is required for music majors and music minors.  This course is a co-requisite of applied music courses and is repeatable.

Students must attend all departmental recitals (TTH 11:00 in Davis Performance Hall) and six (6) on-campus, department-sponsored concerts and recitals.

  • After performing in three (3) ensemble concerts on-campus, a student may count additional ensemble concerts and recitals in which they perform toward their attendance requirement of six (6) on-campus department sponsored concerts and recitals, provided the student submits a list of all concerts they performed in that semester to the department chair before the final week of classes.
  • Students who perform on a student recital for another student may count that recital toward concert attendance.
  • Students may not count their own student recital or off-campus concerts. Attendance at all Departmentals is required.
  • Students must swipe in/out in order for the concert to count toward attendance.
