MATH 125 - Precalculus I (GE)Credits: (3) Prerequisites: Two years of high school algebra (or equivalent). This introductory course is designed to establish the essential mathematical foundation students need for success in degree programs and careers where quantitative reasoning is a key component. The course develops a deep understanding of linear, quadratic, algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic functions, along with their graphical representations. Students will explore real‑world applications including linear models, systems of equations, optimization using quadratic functions, and a variety of career-related applications of the course topics. Throughout the course, students will use various forms of technology to solve applied problems with the emphasis on building practical skills that extend beyond the classroom and into future academic and career pathways.
Note(s): This is a Foundational Mathematics and General Education designated course. Credit for MATH 125 may not be received after receiving credit for a MATH course numbered higher unless it is required by a degree program.
