SOCY 430 - Social Movements

Instructional Method: Three hours lecture.
Prerequisites: SOCY 110 or SOCY 121.
In this course, you will examine social movements from a sociological perspective. You will be exposed to a variety of social movements, both domestic and international. Special emphasis will be placed on how social movements emerge, what makes social movements successful, and how movements affect social change. This course utilizes sociological concepts, theories, and methods to examine salient social movements of our time.
