SPAN 421 - Topics in 20th and 21st-Century Spanish-American Literature

Instructional Method: Three hours lecture.
Prerequisites: SPAN 320  and SPAN 321  or equivalent.
Spanish American literature of the 20th and 21st centuries.  This is a varied content course that allows students to explore literature from different geographical regions of Spanish America from the 20th to 21st centuries. Practices and Theoretical Frameworks. Interdisciplinary analysis of canonical and non-canonical literary texts and their relationships with art, film, music, architecture, and other social practices. Course may be repeated, with different topics, for a maximum of 6 credits. Taught in Spanish.

Note(s): Spanish majors are required to include 24 hours above the intermediate level and at least two 400-level courses into their program of studies. Spanish 421 fulfills part of this requirement for majors and it may be taken up to two times for credit with different content.
