EDSP 446 - Specially Designed Instruction and Intervention Strategies in Reading and Writing for Students with Disabilities

Credits: (3)
Instructional Method: Three hours lecture.
Prerequisites: EDRD 314  and EDRD 414  OR EDRD 688 .
This course provides an understanding and application of specially designed instruction and intensive intervention in reading and writing for students with severe and persistent learning problems. Emphasis will be on the skills and knowledge needed to assess, interpret data, and implement and monitor the effectiveness of specialized instructional strategies and evidence-based and scientifically-proven reading research interventions. Students will also learn to use assistive and instructional technologies to address identified reading and writing needs of students.
