PSYC 637 - Assessment in PsychologyCredits: (3) Instructional Method: Three hours lecture. Prerequisites: Admission into the Master of Science in Clinical Psychology program or by permission of the instructor. This course provides a comprehensive overview of psychological assessment, focusing on the theoretical foundations, practical applications, and ethical considerations involved in the assessment process. Students will develop a strong understanding of the various assessment tools and techniques used in clinical psychology, including standardized tests, interviews, checklists, rating scales, and behavioral observations. The course will emphasize the importance of cultural competence in assessment and the ethical guidelines and legal implications of psychological assessment. Through lectures, discussions, and hands-on exercises, students will gain the knowledge and skills to conduct thorough and accurate psychological assessments.
