EDRD 689 - Development and Assessment of Early Childhood Reading Comprehension and Writing

Prerequisites: Admission to MS in Curriculum and Instruction program
This course is designed to provide students with knowledge regarding the development and assessment of early childhood reading comprehension processes and writing processes. Students will also gain knowledge of developmentally appropriate, research-based instructional strategies for teaching reading comprehension and writing process. Students will also learn to adapt instructional plans to accommodate a variety of student needs. Students will apply their knowledge by assessing for, planning, and implementing and assessing a small group guided reading lesson.
