PSYC 620 - Pre-PracticumCredits: (3) Instructional Method: Three hours lecture. Prerequisites: Admission into the Master of Science in Clinical Psychology program or by permission of the instructor. This course provides students with a foundational experience in clinical practice, bridging the gap between theory and application. Students will use supervised experiences to develop essential clinical skills, including conducting interviews, establishing therapeutic alliances, and applying psychotherapeutic techniques. Through weekly seminars, students will reflect on their experiences, discuss key ethical considerations, and explore the nuances of multicultural competence and diversity.
