COED 450 - Resident Assistant Training Credits: (2) A course which examines students throughout their first semester of higher education as they acclimate to the university environment by focusing on models of student development theory, personal management techniques, and methods of classroom instruction. This course will examine who first-semester students are, and what academic and personal issues they will confront during their transition to higher education. The course will instruct student leaders on various models of classroom management techniques to be used within the UNIV 100 classroom, and will develop mentoring skills through assessment of leadership abilities.
