Interdisciplinary Studies Major The Interdisciplinary Studies Major in Liberal Arts (IDSL) degree is intended for students who have a clearly defined educational goal that is best met by an interdisciplinary path. The flexibility offered by this program is aimed at accomplishing unique and specifically defined sets of learning goals. Students must meet with an advisor in the College Advising Center, and are likewise expected to meet with the Director before formally declaring the major.

Liberal Arts Concentration (36)
Concentration Requirements The Liberal Arts concentration is comprised of two focus areas, where students must complete 36 credit hours (one of the focus areas must be from the College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences) with a minimum of 12 hours in each. Focus areas are defined as courses offered by an individual department or school. At least 50 percent of each focus areas must be taken at the 300-400-level. For the purpose of computing the major grade point average, the major is defined as the courses taken to complete the Liberal Arts Major Specific Requirements as well as the courses within the two focus areas.
B.S. Requirements (6-8 credits) Interdisciplinary Studies in Liberal Arts majors pursuing the Bachelor of Science degree must complete six to eight semester hours chosen from the following: Any class (if not used to meet a Core Curriculum requirement) in ANSC, APST, BIOL, CHEM, COMS, CRJU, ECON, GEOG, GEOL, GEOS, INST, ITEC, MATH, PHYS, SOCY, SOWK, STAT, WGST, or 300-400 level course in: ENGL, HIST (300 –level only) , PEAC, PHIL, POSC, PSYC, RELN.
