Art, B.S. (E, A)

The B.S. in Art, with a concentration in Studio Art, has several pathways and is intended for students who are interested in art but who do not plan on pursuing a career as a professional artist. The goal of this degree is to prepare students to pursue either graduate work or career opportunities in art-related disciplines where the B.F.A. degree and/or educational licensure is not required. These areas might include material cultural studies, forensic arts, art therapy, recreational use of art in extracurricular educational settings, or marketing and business.

REAL Curriculum

This major fulfills the E and A areas of the REAL Curriculum.  The foundations expressive core, followed by upper level art studios, prepares students to use and interpret the language, tools, and media of artistic expression. The art history core provides experience in the cultural and behavioral analysis of developments in art across history and cultures. Students need majors and/or minors to fulfill the R and L areas to complete the REAL Curriculum requirements.
