Interdisciplinary Studies in Liberal Arts (IDSL) at Radford University offers students the unique opportunity to build an individualized multi-disciplinary course of study, enabling students to integrate two disciplinary concentrations and realize their own educational vision. Students choose their own concentration areas (one within the College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences) in a customized major that transcends traditional academic programs. In consultation with academic and career advisers IDSL students develop a plan of study focused on the combination of two areas of study. As a result of that process, the IDSL program is unique in the equal importance assigned to academic advising and focused career path development. Moreover, the IDSL major offers a flexible curriculum to diverse populations of students located across geographic areas, for traditional-aged students looking ahead, and non-traditional students who bring a diverse set of experiences and knowledge to the program.
