Completion of a graduate program in the College of Nursing leads to either a Master of Nursing (M.S.N.) Family Nurse Practitioner or Master of Nursing (M.S.N.) Nursing Administration; or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) with tracks in Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Practice Leadership, and Nursing Leadership; or a Poster Master’s Certificate for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Theory and evidence-based courses prepare graduates to work in a variety of settings, including community and population-based services, acute and outpatient services, education, and clinical administration.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, the master’s degree program in nursing, the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, and the post-graduate APRN certificate program at Radford University Collegeof Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791. ProgramsMaster’s
A degree represents the academic level of a program and the general category into which it falls. For example: Master of Arts, Master of Science, etc. At Radford University, the term “Arts” in a graduate degree generally implies a language and thesis requirement. The minimum number of semester hours for a Radford University graduate degree is 30.
DoctoralCertificate
The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate is generally a series of 15-18 hours of graduate level coursework related to a focused academic topic or competency area. A Post-Baccalaureate Certificate may enhance the education of matriculated (degree seeking) students as well as provide continuing education to non-matriculated (non-degree seeking) students, generally in a specialized or emerging field.
