The Undergraduate nursing program leads to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree. This major includes a broad foundation in physical, behavioral, and social sciences. The B.S.N. program has been approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing and has full national accreditation with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Prelicensure Nursing track
Nursing courses for the Prelicensure Nursing track are concentrated in the junior and senior years (upper division) of the four-year academic program and include, laboratory and clinical learning experiences. Successful completion of the Prelicensure Nursing track requirements and the awarding of a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree qualify the graduate to take the national NCLEX-RN examination for registered nurses. Students should apply for initial licensure in Virginia.
The Prelicensure Nursing track is held in-person at two locations:
- Radford Unversity main campus
- Radford University Carilion and Roanoke Higher Education Center
RN-to-BSN track
The RN-to-BSN track is for individuals who hold active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and who have completed an associate or diploma program in registered nursing. This program is offered online in a seven-week course format.
