Core Curriculum Requirements (43 credits)

Social work students are required to take the following courses and are advised to take them as part of their Core Curriculum Requirements:

Pre-professional courses and professional courses must be completed with a 2.8 or better, and an overall GPA of 2.7, for admission to field and to graduate.

Note:

To enroll in SOWK 489 and to graduate, students must have a 2.8 major GPA and a 2.7 overall GPA. 

To graduate with Latin honors from RU, a student must complete 60 semester hours of credit at RU with at least a 3.5 overall GPA. If a student graduates with at least a 3.5 GPA, but less than 60 semester hours, the designation of “with distinction” will be on the student’s diploma and transcript.
