Art, B.A.

Art Major

B.A. Degree

Students desiring a concentration in art history and museum studies have the option of getting a B.A. degree in art with the art history concentration. This program is especially ideal for students who are interested in art, art history, and other disciplines such as history, anthropology, and literature. The program provides students with a generalist background in both early and modern areas of art history, the opportunity to choose one of those areas for further study and specialization, and an introduction to the area of museum studies. An interdisciplinary field, the concentration in art history prepares students for entry-level work in museums and galleries, archival work in certain types of libraries and collections, and graduate work in the humanities, in museum education and curatorial studies, and degree programs in art therapy. A capstone project in the student’s area of art historical interest completes the program.
