Theatre Major

All requirements for Theatre majors are outlined below. Students may elect to emphasize a theatre specialization such as performance or design and technical theatre.

Core Curriculum Requirements (30-36 credits)

THEA 201 - Theatre Aesthetics
THEA 227 - Acting I
THEA 231 - Stagecraft
THEA 232 - Theatrical Lighting and Sound
THEA 236 - Makeup I
THEA 260 - Theatre Participation I (taken twice for a total of two credit hours)
THEA 330 - Theatre Design I
THEA 350 - Directing I
THEA 360 - Theatre Participation II
or
THEA 476 - Production Practicum (for a total of four credit hours)
THEA 374 - Survey of Drama
THEA 375 - Theatre History I
THEA 376 - Theatre History II

Theatre Electives (9 credits)

All majors are required to complete nine additional semester hours of courses from the following:

The Bachelor of Arts degree requires completion of the B.A. language requirements described here .

Electives (28-26 credits)

Students should consult with their academic advisor in selecting elective courses to complete the 120 semester hours required for graduation.
