REAL Curriculum
This minor fulfills the R and L areas of the REAL Curriculum. This minor utilizes a series of required courses to develop students’ knowledge of forensics, including criminal investigation, laboratory forensic science capabilities, general laboratory sciences, and specialized, forensic based electives. Students utilize hands-on practice, scenario-based learning, and group activities to develop these skills and knowledge of the area of forensics within the criminal justice system. Students need majors and/or minors to fulfill the E and A areas to complete the REAL Curriculum requirements.
Additional Degree Requirements
Students must select their elective courses so that upon completion of the minor they have taken coursework in at least two disciplines.
Students must earn a letter grade of “C” or higher in all courses for credit towards the Forensic Studies minor.
