This minor serves to introduce students to the study of the variation in cultural expression seen in different groups around the world. Students will be introduced to a broad overview of human cultural diversity and then choose from elective classes to explore different culture groups and the ways we explore cultural expression.

REAL Curriculum
This minor fulfills the E and A areas of the REAL Curriculum. The E area is developed through exploration and analysis of cultural expression seen in different world groups. The A area is developed through the exploration and analysis of the behaviors, activities, beliefs and institutions in different world cultures. Students need majors and/or minors to fulfill the R and L areas to complete the REAL Curriculum requirements.
General Education Requirements
General Education courses will be denoted below with a (GE). Students are required to take at least 30 credit hours of general education designated courses within their degree requirements. The Culture Studies minor includes 6-18 general education credits.

Elective Courses (12 credit hours)
Cultural Analysis Electives (6 credits)
Choose six credits from the following courses. Three credits must be at the 300 level or above.
Cultural Expression Electives (6 credits)
Choose six credits from the following courses. If ANSC 105 was chosen above at least three credits must be in 300 level or above.
Total Credit Hours for Minor 18
Additional Information
No more than 9 credit hours can double count across any program (major or minor) offered by the Anthropological Sciences department.
