Esports Services Minor (L)

The minor in esports services focuses on play, community, team-building, inclusion, and event planning. Offered jointly with the English Department, this minor will prepare students for careers in this burgeoning field. Courses include those dedicated to the esports ecosystem and game design. Depending on personal interests, students are able to choose supportive courses such as writing, marketing, leadership, and special events.

REAL Curriculum


This minor fulfills the L area of the REAL Curriculum. Students will apply acquired knowledge and skills to develop professional identity or professional practice through exploration of esports services careers such as: esports coach, tournament and event operator, program director, social media manager, esports producer, product manager, program specialist, talent acquisition, and marketing director. Students will critically reflect on their learning, abilities, experiences, or role within professional contexts through applied learning projects such planning, facilitating, and evaluating an esports tournament. Students need majors and/or minors to fulfill the R, E, and A areas to complete the REAL Curriculum requirements.

General Education Requirements


General Education courses will be denoted below with a (GE). Students are required to take at least 30 credit hours of general education designated courses within their degree requirements. The Esports Services minor includes 3-9 general education credits.
