Requirements for the Administration and Supervision (preK-12) endorsement
The School Licensure Leadership Assessment
The School Licensure Leadership Assessment (SLLA) by ETS is required by the Commonwealth of Virginia, prior to receiving the Administration and Supervision (preK-12) endorsement. Radford University’s Master of Science in Educational Leadership provides students the opportunity to prepare for the role of school principal and/or central office supervisor. All program requirements are to be completed before registering for the SLLA.
Administrative Internship
In order to complete the program and be recommended for the Administration and Supervision (preK-12) endorsement, a student must complete an administrative internship. An internship consists of a total of 360 hours of administration experience in local schools and in a division office setting. Students may begin the field placement after completing six hours in the program and may register for internship credits in 2.0 hour increments. Each 2.0 hour unit of the internship consists of 120 clock hours working with a mentor principal/central office supervisor. The administrative internship is required for licensure as a preK-12 supervisor.
Final Comprehensive Examination
Students completing the Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership are required to complete a final comprehensive exam as a requirement for graduation. |
