MUSC 362 - Vocal Pedagogy and Literature II

Instructional Method: Two hours lecture.
Prerequisites: MUSC 361 .
Students will learn about the history of song from the Renaissance through Classical eras.  Discussions and demonstrations will be used to model how vocal technique may be taught through this repertoire.  Students also will learn what to expect of young singer’s voices and how repertoire and other vocal literature may be used to address vibrato, posture, breath support and tone quality appropriately in teaching young singers of varying age groups.
