MUSE 353 - Classroom Instruments

Instructional Method: Three hours laboratory.
Prerequisites: MUSC 115, MUSC 162, and MUSC 368.
Corequisites: MUSE 300: Field Experiences in Music Education
Classroom Instruments involves the study of instruments commonly used in general music classes, including the voice as an instrument. The course includes performance techniques, pedagogy for teaching young students how to use the singing voice and perform classroom instruments effectively, and basic accompaniment and arranging techniques for classroom ensembles. Students will address state and national standards through classroom instrument instruction.
