COMS 699 - Research and Thesis

Credits: Variable credit, (1-6) (6 credit hours required)

A student planning to do a thesis will take a 3-credit COMS 699 in two consecutive semesters. The student needs to form the thesis committee before being placed into COMS 699. The student is encouraged to defend the thesis proposal by the end of the first semester taking COMS 699. This proposal is submitted on a form, available on the website of the College of Graduate Studies, which must be signed by the thesis committee. The student needs to defend the thesis by the end of the graduating semester.

The thesis in the field of Communication must conform to the style requirements of either the American Psychological Association or the Modern Language Association. The thesis grade will be recorded as “Pass” or “Fail.”
