Astronomy Minor (R)

General Education Requirements

General Education courses will be denoted below with a (GE). Students are required to take at least 30 credit hours of general education designated courses within their degree requirements. The Astronomy minor includes 11 general education credits.

Required Courses (11 credits):

• ASTR 220 - Introduction to Astrophysics (GE)

•  

• PHYS 111 - General Physics I and
• PHYS 112 - General Physics II (GE)

• or

• PHYS 221 - Physics I (GE) and
• PHYS 222 - Physics II (GE)

Electives

Select two of the following three courses:

• ASTR 310 - Observational Methods In Astronomy
• ASTR 421 - Solar System Astronomy
• ASTR 422 - Galactic Astronomy and Cosmology
