The online Design Thinking Certificate requires students to complete 15 credits of graduate level coursework that empowers them to strategize, plan, and solve complex problems across a multitude of venues. The curriculum is structured to facilitate mastery in Design Thinking methods, management, teaming, and environment and behavior.

Admission Requirements

Admissions criteria for the Design Thinking Certificate aligns with the current MFA requirements in that applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a preferred 3.0 GPA.

Certificate Requirements

Required course:
DSN 600 - Design Thinking Studio Credits: (3)
Students must select the additional 4 required courses from the following:
DSN 611 - Special Topics in Design Thinking Credits: (3) (may be repeated on a different topic for 3 additional credits)
DSN 615 - Readings Credits: (3)
DSN 619 - Design Thinking for Educators Credits: (3)
DSN 645 - Collaboration Studio Credits: (3)
DSN 670 - Environment Behavior Credits: (3)
DSN 740 - Design Management Credits: (3)
