UAS 409 - Unmanned Aerial Systems - Advanced Flight Operations

Credits: (4)
Instructional Method: Three hours lecture, two hours lab.
Prerequisites: UAS 107  or permission of instructor.
Prepares students for careers that require maintaining and operating Unmanned Aerial Systems (drones). Students will learn about current and emerging technologies related to UASs and their applications to their discipline. Included topics are updates to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, types of unmanned systems, mission planning, and flight operations. The course trains students to work with a variety of drones. Instruction includes training for manual “stick-and-rudder” piloting, mission planning, and flight safety for advanced drones.
