Students enrolled in EDSP 526 will explore similar topics. However, students will be expected to complete a detailed research paper examining topics in Deaf Education or Deaf Culture with which they are unfamiliar with, incorporating peer reviewed, credible sources.
This course examines legislation, trends, issues, etiology, identification, characteristics, Deaf culture, school-related needs, communication modes, educational placement options, and organizations and agencies relevant to individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing and their families and the professionals who work with them.
