EDUC 461 - Creating Caring Classrooms to Empower Diverse Learners

Credits: (3)
Instructional Method: Three hours lecture.
Prerequisites: EDSP 361  or departmental approval.
The future educator will gain the skills necessary to effectively build relationships with diverse students, create a classroom community, and manage a classroom environment grounded in the ethic of care framework. A strong foundational understanding of how individual experiences, abilities, languages, cultures, and family and community values influence student engagement is critical for creating a caring classroom that meets the needs of all learners. Tier I and II research-based positive support strategies are taught.
