AAST 390 - The Black Freedom Movement

Instructional Method: Three hours lecture.

This course contextualizes contemporary social movement historiography by exploring the twentieth century’s social, political, and economic landscape. It specifically examines the efforts of African American individuals and organizations to dismantle systemic inequities during the modern civil rights and Black Power movements.



Note(s): Humanistic or Artistic Expression designated course.  The course encourages continuous examination of humanistic and artistic expressions that shaped the civil rights and Black Power movements.
