Many students find a Music Minor to be an enriching supplement to their primary studies. Whether it is to better prepare you for your chosen career or you just enjoy doing and learning about music, completing a minor is a great way to be involved and deepen your understanding of music. Minors in the Department of Music receive the same quality instruction and attention as do our majors.

REAL Curriculum
This minor fulfills E and L areas of the REAL Curriculum. This minor provides an integration of methods/techniques and inquiry to explore the creative experience in human expression as well as a focus on the inner workings of the music industry. Students need majors and/or minors to fulfill the R and A areas to complete the REAL Curriculum requirements.
General Education Requirements
General Education courses will be denoted below with a (GE). Students are required to take at least 30 credit hours of general education designated courses within their degree requirements. The Performance option of the Music minor includes 6 general education credits.

A minor in music performance requires an audition and acceptance into the department of music on a major instrument or voice classification.
