Foreign Languages Minor

Students pursuing this minor study Chinese, French, or Latin. (Minors are also offered in German Studies and Spanish under separate designations.) The study of foreign languages and literatures prepares students for personal and professional success in a world of interlocking cultures and helps them develop skills for communicating effectively to a wide array of individuals in the workplace and within the global community. Foreign language proficiency is a vital skill in numerous careers, including the arts, business, diplomacy, education, political science, government, law, health care, and social work.

A student seeking a minor in Foreign Languages must complete 18 semester hours in a specific language with at least one course at the 300 or 400 level. Latin minors may include CLSS 110   and German minors may include CCST 110 . A minimum grade point average of 2.0 is required.
