Design Studies in Applied Design and Culture Minor (A, L)

Design Studies Minor in Applied Design and Culture provides a basis of design psychology, history, design business, and design computer applications. Students will learn how people interact with their environment (interior and exterior). Students design solutions using industry specific software (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc) which might be utilized in the design internship. Students complete a summer internship as a result of this minor and they critically reflect on their internship learning experience as it relates to professional contexts of their chosen major and intended career/business field through written reflection paper after completing the required minimum internship. This minor combines two REAL letter designations to provide students with a more holistic view of design and its importance in the world.

This minor fulfills the A and L area of the REAL Curriculum to provide students with a more holistic view of design and its importance in the world.
General Education Requirements
General Education courses will be denoted below with a (GE). Students are required to take at least 30 credit hours of general education designated courses within their degree requirements. The Design Studies in Applied Design and Culture minor includes 12 general education credits.

Additional Information
Students cannot receive a BS or BFA in a Design major and any additional minor in Design Studies.
