Spanish Minor (E, L)

This program provides students with a foundation in Spanish language skills, as well as an overview of economic, political, artistic, and cultural contexts for several Spanish-speaking populations. The Spanish minor prepares students to use Spanish in a range of personal and professional contexts.

REAL Curriculum
The minor earns students credit for E (Humanistic and Aristic Expression) and L (Applied Learning). Students also have the option to complete their upper-level Writing Intensive (WI) course by enrolling in a writing-focused elective. General Education Requirements
General Education courses will be denoted below with a (GE). Students are required to take at least 30 credit hours of general education designated courses within their degree requirements. The Spanish minor includes 6 general education credits. Minor Requirements (18 credits)
Students seeking a Foreign Languages Minor in Spanish must complete 18 credit hours in Spanish with at least three courses 300-level or above.
Required Courses (3 credits)
Humanistic and Artistic Expression Electives (6 credits)
Students must choose six credits from the following list. At least three must be in a Writing Intensive (WI) course.
Applied Learning Electives (9 credits)
Students must choose nine credits from the following list.

Additional Information
A minimum GPA of 2. 0 is required. Students who begin at Radford University above the first two courses in the first year receive 6 free credits in L-designated courses.
